Well, I was reading Huck Finn, but then I went to the bookstore and I kind of stopped. Why? Well, I saw that they finally released And Another Thing… here in Brazil.

That’s the Brazilian cover of And Another Thing

Here’s the thing; Eoin Colfer made a really bad move. This book shouldn’t have been written. But he did, so be it.

Just one thing that really pissed me off. Thor. The book says clearly that Gods exist.  That would be enough to regret spending my money on the damn thing. Is a real compliment to Colfer that I was able to ignore that enough to be drawn into the story.

The book by itself quite good, as far as I read, and much better than one would’ve expected. But it doesn’t mean it was a good idea, because the main problem lies on the fact that it’s not a book by itself. Douglas Adams is the only one who can live up to Douglas Adams. The story often feels like a mediocre fanfic, and the really good parts are only close to Adam’s worst moments (that’s saying a lot), but is pleasant enough if you have no expectations and a great desire to sit again with a Hitchhiker’s Guide book in hands. Even if the name on the cover isn’t Douglas Adams.
